Edmonton, Alberta photoI spoke today in Edmonton, Alberta at the Alberta Teachers Association Early Childhood Education Council annual conference held at the Fantasyland Hotel, located in the West Edmonton Mall, the largest mall in North America (and until 2004, the largest mall in the world).  Over 650 educators from all over Alberta gathered to discuss timely issues in early childhood education and to learn effective strategies for helping young children blossom in the classroom.  I delivered the keynote address in the morning on ”Awakening the Genius in Every Child,” and later that afternoon did a breakout session on ”Neurodiversity in the Classroom.”

I indicated to the group that I would make the handouts for each session available for downloading through Slideshare.  If you would like to download the morning session on awakening genius, click here.  If you would like to download the afternoon session on neurodiversity in the classroom, click here.  I want to thank Janice Comrie, the conference chair (pictured above with me during my book signing following the keynote presentation), and the other officials connected with the conference, for inviting me to come to Edmonton to share my ideas about education.  The conference continues on Saturday, and I wish all the conferees many wonderful learning experiences that will help transform the lives of young children!
