This video features six prominent individuals and one group who have succeeded in their areas of expertise while at the same time showing the signs and symptoms of dyslexia. The list includes: Anderson Cooper, Tom Cruise, Steven Spielberg, Dav Pilkey, Richard Branson, and the cybersecurity decoders of the Government Communication Headquarters in the U.K. In each case, I pair the person or the group with specific strengths associated with dyslexia (e.g. Dav Pilkey’s ability to draw, Richard Branson’s big picture thinking etc.). It’s important for neurodivergent individuals be aware of people in life who have their diagnosis of dyslexia and at the same time succeeded fabulously in their chosen fields. This awareness can help cultivate an attitude that ”if they can do it, so can I!”
