Video #28 Assistive Technologies for People with Dyslexia

Photo of a mobile phone with just the person's hand holding it.This video explores a number of ”work-around” tools that can help dyslexics get meaning from text without their actually having to de-code the words (reading is very important, but not the focus of this video). They include: speech-to-text apps, text-to-speech tools, grammar and spell checkers, AI writing aids, notetaking apps and tools (including the Livescribe pen), audio books, and videos. We live in an incredible time where it has never been easier to acquire knowledge and learn new things. One shouldn’t let difficulty with de-coding the printed word get in the way of taking in and expressing all of this marvelous amazing world we live in!
