Video #15 Assistive Technologies for People with Autism

In this video (#15 in my series introducing my new book The Power of Neurodiversity), I describe several apps that can help people with autism work around obstacles and master skills to make their lives easier and more fulfilling. They include a habit-tracker app, two relaxation apps (Calm and Colorfy), a social stories app (to help the user learn social routines), a dating and social network apps for the neurodiversity community, and an alternative augmentative communication device for nonspeakers or those who find verbal communication difficult. I also explain the difference between an assistive technology and a Universal Design for Learning tool, and suggest they tend to blend in together along a continuum.
