In this video, I share seven practical ways to enhance the social network of someone diagnosed with autism, including using the Floortime model with kids, animal therapy, sandplay therapy, AI robots, and for adults online communities and ”autreats” where neurotypicals stay at home. I go on record as NOT recommending Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) for kids, and give my reasons for doing so. Finally, I go out on a limb and recommend facilitated communication as a method that allows people who have no other feasible way of communicating with others to actively participate in the social world around them.
