This is video #12 in my video series introducing my book The Power of Neurodiversity:  Unleashing the Advantages of Your Neurodivergent Brain (Completely Updated and Revised Second Edition).  In this video I highlight four individuals whose successes in life have made them good exemplars for neurodivergent individuals, especially those on the spectrum: Temple Grandin, Anthony Hopkins, Ari Ne’eman, and Daryl Hannah. I discuss their accomplishments and share a quote from each that bears upon their own attitudes toward their differences and how that has influenced them in their life. I also list several other contemporary individuals who are generally regarded to be on the spectrum, I discuss historical figures who may or may not have had autism (I don’t think Mozart did, but Henry Cavendish probably so), and suggest that people on the spectrum look to their own local community for examples of autistic individuals (lawyers, doctors, artists, businesspeople, politicians, architects, artisans, and others) who have done wonderful things with their lives.
